01 · the challenge

The World Resources Institute is a global research organisation working at the intersection of environment and development across more than a dozen international offices. Its partnerships — funders, governments, implementing organisations — are the lifeblood of its work, yet the institution lacked a unified Partnerships Management System. Before a single line of code could responsibly be written, WRI needed the foundational phase done right: the evidence, the architecture and the roadmap — to international security and compliance standards.

02 · the approach
design-thinking-led engagement Stakeholder surveys, virtual workshops and key informant interviews across WRI’s global offices and functions.
personas & journey maps The system’s future users defined as archetypes, with their workflows mapped end to end and use cases prioritised by value.
validated system architecture The full technical architecture designed and validated with stakeholders — to international security and compliance standards.
specifications & wireframes Detailed technical specifications and wireframes — the concrete blueprint any build partner can execute against.
implementation roadmap A phased, prioritised roadmap taking the system from blueprint through build to global rollout.
